My Week In Pictures // Week 8

Chester Zoo

We arranged to go to Chester Zoo at the weekend and renew our annual pass.  Unfortunately we hadn’t looked at the weather forecast.  It was a grey and bitterly cold day but we wrapped up and braved it anyhow.  I took the camera hoping to take loads of photos of the animals but most were nowhere to be seen.  They had read the memo to stay indoors tucked up from the cold.

I thought I was being clever by directing us towards the tropical house over on the Islands.  A lot of people had the same idea as me.  I tried to take a few photos indoors of all the tropical birds  but my lens kept steaming over so I gave up.  It was just such a shame that Harry wants to run through it at break neck speed rather than sit and watch the animals/sit and let us all warm up!  The good thing about having the pass is that we don’t have to do it all in one day, so we will be back.  Preferably when the sun is out.

Top:  Harry was pleased to find out that he is now the same height as a flamingo.  He was even more excited to learn that the next stage is a lion.  I can’t help wondering whether this means the roar count in our house will go up another level…..

Middle:    Only ones brave enough –  apart from us – to be outside.

Bottom:  It was so cold that we had to stop and get some food to re-fuel.  Not much was open so Daddy relented and bought us some chips to share.  Not that we got to share too many of H’s.

All beautiful captures, I love the elephants. We used to have a zoo pass when the boys were younger and visited all year round. It’s always a great day out. #mysundayphoto

It’s well worth a day out. It is also crammed full of people with very expensive camera equipment that I can only dream of owning. Thanks for hosting.

It is expensive but well worth it. Luckily we have a pass so we can do chunks at a time. Some days we just go to use the adventure playground. I can stand all day and watch the chimpanzees. Unfortunately a 4 year old has other ideas!

Fond memories of Chester Zoo and getting locked out of it on a school trip once. Your boy’s face on your header always makes me smile. #MySundayPhoto

Better than being locked in. Although that would have been a story to tell. 🙂

We love Chester Zoo! The elephants are my absolute fave too – and I think the new Islands are fantastic. If we lived closer we would definitely get an annual pass as our two loved it. Gorgeous photos. Thanks for linking to #DreamTeam x

You still managed a brilliant photo of the elephants despite the weather though! #bloggersbest
