Just how confusing is it to buy the right type of nappy for your little ones. The choice is endless – comfort fit, active fit, action fit, simply dry, baby dry, ultra dry, easy fit…. Multiply that by the range of different sizes, and your little one can fall in to a few of them based on their weight range, and you have a nightmare on your hands as you seek to make the “right” decision.
And then just when you think you have the hang of it you then have to make the leap from nappies to pull-ups – first pants, easy-ups etc
And why oh why do they never appear to have the same benefits. Trying to decipher marketing speak in our delicate mental state can often lead to normally rational people having a very embarrassing meltdown in supermarket aisles. Apologies to those people who witnessed this on Saturday morning. In my defence I hadn’t eaten much that morning either which didn’t help.
One might well have 12 hour protection but because it doesn’t have a sticker on it saying so and the other ones do, do you take the risk and buy them anyway? Even then, does” sleep dry technology” and “12 hour night protection” mean one and the same thing?
Having worn the tread off my shoes wandering up and down aisles picking up and putting down multiple brands, designs, and type of nappies it finally dawned on me. Isn’t it time for consistent labelling across brands to put us out of our misery?
In the meantime I will continue to pump money in to the UK economy and squander Harry’s inheritance by using the trial and error approach….oh yes and nipping down the alcohol aisle on my way out to calm my nerves.
