Magic Moments // Hot Wax and Wet Wipes

Bouyed by my recent makey-doo experiences with Harry, I jumped at the offer from a friend to take our children to the Cheshire Candle Factory.  We thought we would spend a good part of the day there and paid for the package which consisted of making a candle, decorating a candle holder, making a sand ornament, and painting a clay figure.   The first place we headed off to was the candle making section – the bit I’d been excited about the most.  On came the plastic aprons, up went the sleeves, out came the wet wipes, and we Read on…

Month of Firsts – May 2016

Another month over and it is time to review the good, the bad and the downright ugly from May.  You have certainly sent me to opposite ends of the emotional spectrum this month.  I guess it is just a consequence of you developing so quickly and being more aware of what is going on around you and how you can influence it.  And the flip side of that is how frustrated you get when you have no influence.  All are moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is Read on…

Month of Firsts – April 2016

It is the start of a new month and time to reflect on the last one and write-up all of the firsts that we achieved.  Month of Firsts is a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  It is a warts and all account of the good, the bad and the ugly.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is what you got Read on…

Magic Moments // First Bake Off

I’ve been meaning to do a bit more “makey-do” stuff with Harry so when I was out shopping and spotted The Good Dinosaur Cake Packet Mix, it was a complete no-brainer what our next mum and son activity was going to be. The Good Dinosaur was the first film that we took Harry to see and we all loved it. He has books, plastic figures and the DVD of it. I knew that our first cake making experience was going to be a winner.  The only question was “how much mess were we going Read on…

Month of Firsts – March 2016

It’s that time of the month again when I round-up all the firsts that we have achieved in the month – warts and all.  It was a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  It’s been a quieter month than most, but I think that’s more my fault for failing to write things down because I Read on…

Month of Firsts – February 2016

It’s that time of the month again when I round-up all the firsts that we have achieved in the month – warts and all.  I can’t believe that another month has passed.  Time is flying by.  Month of Firsts is a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is what you got Read on…

Month of Firsts – January 2016

It’s that time of the month again when I round-up all the firsts that we have achieved in the month – warts and all.  It was a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is what you got up to in January: Pretended to be a Doctor You demonstrated your bedside manner Read on…

Month of Firsts – December 2015

Back in mid-2015 I started a series of posts to document all the small “firsts” that my little man had completed during the month.  They didn’t have to be earth shattering, just fun things that I could look back on and that would make me smile on a grey day.  These would capture the good, the bad and the ugly moments. So far the ones that I have written have certainly ticked that box.  So, Harry, what have you been up to in December? Went on your first train ride, and it just happened Read on…

Month of Firsts – Sept 2015

I started this series of posts a few months ago because I was struggling to remember all the things my little man had done.  He is growing up so fast and learning new things at an alarming speed that it is hard to keep up with all the changes.  Despite re-assuring myself I wouldn’t forget the small things, I have to concede that it is far easier said than done.  I have therefore decided to keep a list of all his “1st’s”.  It seems like only 2 seconds ago that I wrote about August and yet Harry, here is Read on…

Month of Firsts – August 2015

I started this series of posts a few months ago because I was struggling to remember all of the things my little man was doing.  He is growing up so fast and learning new things at an alarming speed that it is hard to keep up with him.   The days are blurring in to each other.  Despite re-assuring myself I was bound not to forget such special moments I have to concede that it is far easier said than done.  I have therefore decided to keep a list of all his “1st’s”. Harry, this is what you did for the 1st time in August 2015: Went to your Read on…
