Time Flies

There are some features of Facebook that annoy me – I DO NOT PLAY CANDY CRUSH SAGA NEITHER DO I WANT TO SO PLEASE DON’T INVITE ME – is a particular bug-bear of mine – and then those that make me smile, such as the feature that let’s you see your memories from previous years.  This particular reminder blew me away because remarkably it showed what had happened on the same day over the last 4 years, and so I wanted to share it here.  In my opinion it is a set of quite special photographs Read on…

Pumpkin Patch

Magic Moments // Pumpkin Picking

I have never picked a pumpkin.  I don’t particularly like pumpkin so there has never been a need to.  But having a child means you have an excuse a reason to try new things.  I’d seen photos of friends that had gone pumpkin picking and it looked like good fun so I decided that we were going to give it a try. I had a romantic vision of fields full of autumnal colours, neat rows of pumpkins, and happy children skipping among them.  The reality was very, very, different.  Now, I have only watched Read on…

Month of Firsts – October 2015

I say it every month – where has the time gone?!  I am so glad that I started this series of posts, as there is no way that I would be able to keep track of all the new things my son got up to during the month.  Another one has come to a close, so without further ado here we go.  Harry, here are the things that you did for the first time in October. Asked me to “put the (r)oof down” every time we got in the car – we don’t have a convertible nor do we know any Read on…

Month of Firsts – August 2015

I started this series of posts a few months ago because I was struggling to remember all of the things my little man was doing.  He is growing up so fast and learning new things at an alarming speed that it is hard to keep up with him.   The days are blurring in to each other.  Despite re-assuring myself I was bound not to forget such special moments I have to concede that it is far easier said than done.  I have therefore decided to keep a list of all his “1st’s”. Harry, this is what you did for the 1st time in August 2015: Went to your Read on…

Month of Firsts – July 2015

Time goes by so quickly that I find it useful to jot down all the things that my little cheeky monkey did for the first time during the month.  I call it my Month of 1st’s.  I want this to be something I can look back on to remind myself of major milestones and tender moments.  I also can’t believe how quickly time is passing and how much he is growing up.  Here is what happened for the first time in July. Finger painting – I am not the arty type, so in Read on…

Month of Firsts – June 2015

Whilst last month I listed out a whole host of things that my little cheeky monkey did for the first time, this month looks quite light in comparison.  I put this down to my poor memory and have made a note to self to jot things down as they happen.  So here is what happened for the first time in the month of June. Chased squirrels – you didn’t just chase them you terrorised them.  The poor things ran under bushes, up trees and even in bins to escape you.  At one point I thought Read on…
