Month of Firsts – July 2016

It’s that time again.  Time to reflect on last month and write-up all of the firsts that you achieved.  This was a series of posts I started because time was rushing by so quickly and I was losing track of what you did and when you did it.  I look at the ones from last year and love reading them and remembering all the things that made me laugh, frustrated me, and made me burst with pride.  Compared to other months this July was quite a quiet one.  But when I started this series I knew that some months Read on…

Month of Firsts – June 2016

I am so behind with these posts at the moment and that is just because so many things are changing and it is hard to keep up.  Which is why I am so glad that I started this series of posts to keep track of what you have done. If it wasn’t for photos I would struggle to remember everything.  So here we go, here is my warts and all round up of all your “firsts”.  So, Harry this is what you got up to in June: Chased bubbles around a field in nothing Read on…

Month of Firsts – May 2016

Another month over and it is time to review the good, the bad and the downright ugly from May.  You have certainly sent me to opposite ends of the emotional spectrum this month.  I guess it is just a consequence of you developing so quickly and being more aware of what is going on around you and how you can influence it.  And the flip side of that is how frustrated you get when you have no influence.  All are moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is Read on…

He Said WHAT!?

Harry’s speech is coming on leaps and bounds and as it does the opportunities for public humiliation multiply.  Being a toddler means that the volume control button is broken and set at maximum.  There is no filter.  He repeats himself often just in case you didn’t catch it the first time, second, third……. Here are just some of my favourite comments from the last few weeks. (Potty training has been big on the agenda hence the toilet related theme throughout this post). “It’s a man” – As we went for a walk through the park Read on…

Month of Firsts – April 2016

It is the start of a new month and time to reflect on the last one and write-up all of the firsts that we achieved.  Month of Firsts is a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  It is a warts and all account of the good, the bad and the ugly.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is what you got Read on…

Month of Firsts – March 2016

It’s that time of the month again when I round-up all the firsts that we have achieved in the month – warts and all.  It was a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  It’s been a quieter month than most, but I think that’s more my fault for failing to write things down because I Read on…

Month of Firsts – February 2016

It’s that time of the month again when I round-up all the firsts that we have achieved in the month – warts and all.  I can’t believe that another month has passed.  Time is flying by.  Month of Firsts is a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is what you got Read on…

Potty Training – The Grand Finale

If you read my first post on potty training then you will know that this is NOT a “how-to” guide.  Following the response to my last one, here is a follow-up to let you know about our progress.  For reasons that will become clear I was toying with the idea of calling this post: “Happy Hippos, High Fives, and a Hell of a Lot of Toilet Roll” Our previous potty training sessions had gone quite well.  We had a few one step forward two-steps back moments but nothing too bad to put me off in the Read on…

The Waiting Room

Last week saw us attend the drop-in clinic at my doctor’s surgery and have to wait for 3 hours for an appointment.  Yes I will say that again, 3 hours.  And that was 3 hours of having to sit in the waiting room for your name to be called.  I had been told the horror stories of how long others have waited – although even the worst story was half the length of time we waited –  so I went prepared with a packed lunch, his sticker book and a few of his Read on…
