Month of Firsts – July 2016

It’s that time again.  Time to reflect on last month and write-up all of the firsts that you achieved.  This was a series of posts I started because time was rushing by so quickly and I was losing track of what you did and when you did it.  I look at the ones from last year and love reading them and remembering all the things that made me laugh, frustrated me, and made me burst with pride.  Compared to other months this July was quite a quiet one.  But when I started this series I knew that some months Read on…

Month of Firsts – June 2016

I am so behind with these posts at the moment and that is just because so many things are changing and it is hard to keep up.  Which is why I am so glad that I started this series of posts to keep track of what you have done. If it wasn’t for photos I would struggle to remember everything.  So here we go, here is my warts and all round up of all your “firsts”.  So, Harry this is what you got up to in June: Chased bubbles around a field in nothing Read on…

Magic Moments // Hot Wax and Wet Wipes

Bouyed by my recent makey-doo experiences with Harry, I jumped at the offer from a friend to take our children to the Cheshire Candle Factory.  We thought we would spend a good part of the day there and paid for the package which consisted of making a candle, decorating a candle holder, making a sand ornament, and painting a clay figure.   The first place we headed off to was the candle making section – the bit I’d been excited about the most.  On came the plastic aprons, up went the sleeves, out came the wet wipes, and we Read on…

Month of Firsts – May 2016

Another month over and it is time to review the good, the bad and the downright ugly from May.  You have certainly sent me to opposite ends of the emotional spectrum this month.  I guess it is just a consequence of you developing so quickly and being more aware of what is going on around you and how you can influence it.  And the flip side of that is how frustrated you get when you have no influence.  All are moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is Read on…

He Said WHAT!?

Harry’s speech is coming on leaps and bounds and as it does the opportunities for public humiliation multiply.  As most of us know, a toddler has no volume control.  Most of the time it is set at maximum.  There is also no filter.  He repeats himself often just in case you didn’t catch it the first time, second, third…….  Often I am left thinking – He Said What!? whilst trying to run away quickly.  It seems he has a real talent for embarrassing me. Here are just some of my favourite comments from the last Read on…

Month of Firsts – April 2016

It is the start of a new month and time to reflect on the last one and write-up all of the firsts that we achieved.  Month of Firsts is a series of posts I started because I was struggling to keep track of what you did and when you did it.  Some of the things make me laugh, some frustrate me and others are just magical.  It is a warts and all account of the good, the bad and the ugly.  All moments worth sharing and keeping for future reading.  So, Harry this is what you got Read on…

Magic Moments // First Bake Off

I’ve been meaning to do a bit more “makey-do” stuff with Harry so when I was out shopping and spotted The Good Dinosaur Cake Packet Mix, it was a complete no-brainer what our next mum and son activity was going to be. The Good Dinosaur was the first film that we took Harry to see and we all loved it. He has books, plastic figures and the DVD of it. I knew that our first cake making experience was going to be a winner.  The only question was “how much mess were we going Read on…
