“50 things that make me happy….”, hmm I thought how hard can that be? Well when I sat down and started to write down 50 things I had a complete mind melt and walked away and left it unfinished. One week later and I was ready to try again and found my mind flowing with things. In fact I went way past 50. The hardest part then has been to condense it in to my favourite 50 things that make me happy. So here goes. Hope you like them and they bring a smile to your face
- Cuddles (especially unsolicited ones from my little man)
- Spontaneous soft kiss on the lips
- The way he gets all excited when I pick him up from the childminder and proudly shows me off to the other children.
- Watching him play football with the big boys
- Hearing him scream with happiness at a play barn
- Watching him get all excited when he spots sheep in a field (sheepsies)
- Sitting in the caravan all snuggled up under the quilt
- Thick fluffy socks
- Beer battered fish and chips
- The smell of fresh-cut grass
- The sound of the sea hitting the shore
- Polzeath
- The sound of the Kop singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” (I always get a tear in my eye)
- The sun (I am a Leo after all)
- Laughter
- Ameretto over ice
- A girlie get together
- Fluffy soft towels
- My husband (got to be included hey?)
- Playing netball
- A lie-in
- Listening to Dolly Parton (who doesn’t love a bit of Dolly?!)
- Being a mummy
- Writing lists
- Body boarding
- Silly dancing with my son
- Marmite on thick white buttered toast
- Having my hair washed
- Family bike rides in the Lakes
- Fresh sheets on the bed
- An uninterrupted night sleep (please let me have one of these again soon)
- Watching/reading To Kill a Mockingbird (I read and/or watch it every year)
- Hearing the rugby crowd belting out the Welsh National Anthem at the Millenium Stadium
- Planning holidays
- Lying in the caravan and looking through the skylight at the night sky
- Being with my family
- A day off work
- Wearing my Converse (I live in them at weekends)
- John Bishop and Peter Kaye (should that be number 40 as well??)
- The sound of rain on the conservatory
- Nest building
- Watching Wimbledon
- A warm shower
- Memories of travelling around Ireland on the back of the motorbike (only another 16 years to wait until we can do it again)
- Blogging/Chatting to people
- Coffee and walnut cake
- Gin and Tonic on a warm evening
- Sitting outside on the decking watching the little bats fly over head
- Take That (yes, I am THAT age and I have seen every Tour. Too scared to miss one now!)
- Strictly Come Dancing
I hope you like my list. I have really enjoyed doing it as it ticks off two of the things on my list (see item 24, 45).
