“You wait around for a bus and then two come along at once” exactly describes my social calendar this past two weeks. Last weekend I caught up with my school buddies to do some singing and this week I met up with the mums I was introduced to at Parenting Classes when Harry was just a few weeks old. Now I am not sure how you get invited to these classes. I like to think that they are routine for this part of Wales. The alternative is that we were singled out during our ante-natal classes as the most in need. Whatever the reason, it has provided me with a new set of friends that I would have struggled without during those first few months. We laugh at each other’s stories, swap tips, and generally just keep each other sane. It is hard to believe that we will have known each other for nearly two years this summer.
Melissa and Doug walked in to my life this week and were welcomed with open arms. Harry adores sticker albums but he hasn’t quite worked out that once they are in the book that you leave them in the book. His dinosaur album is littered with random heads attached to the wrong bodies, or bodies with no heads at all. Thankfully Melissa and Doug produce a sticker album with easy peel stickers that go off and on effortlessly. You can also scrunch them up and they bounce back in to shape. A completely reusable sticker book. Genius. No more heads dotted around my lounge. On the back of that purchase I was persuaded by my friend to get the “Water Wow”. It is a colouring book that comes with a refillable water pen. The water triggers the colours to come through in the picture. So all you have to do is brush the water pen across the picture. Harry was mesmerised by it. Once it dries the colours disappear so you can start all over again. I gave it to him yesterday and he didn’t play with anything else. This will definitely be something that gets packed for long journeys. My thanks to Lucy (www.freddieandreggie.co.uk) for helping make my life that little bit easier.
The funniest part of the week was watching my very own miniature Mick Jagger strut around the kitchen to the Rolling Stones track “Sympathy for the Devil”. I hadn’t realised he was in the room with me and only turned around because I could hear a little voice singing “OOO-OOO” during the chorus. I was too caught up in the moment to break away and take a snap of it and a photo probably wouldn’t have done it justice anyway.
Right I must dash as we are off swimming now. And for those of you that read last weeks post (http://mylittlecheekymonkey.com/2015/05/17/my-week-at-a-glance-week-1752015/) you will be relieved to know that I am wearing a turtle neck swimsuit!

Have a good week.
Love

The reusable sticker book is a brilliant idea! When I was little, I had water-painting books that were kind of like the one you have. I loved playing with them, but they weren’t reusable. I’ll definitely be keeping those in mind for when Pumpkin is older!
Thanks for joining #myweekataglance. :-)

Reusable sticker books are absolute genius aren’t they. We too have random halves of stickers all over the place and I have to do a sticker check before putting anything in the washing machine. I love the Water Wow book, we’ve not tried that. It looks like a cross between Aquadoodle and those magic painting books I remember from my own childhood.
Have a lovely week!

Yes you are right that’s exactly what they are like. Proper trip down memory lane. Probably why I have more fun with them than he does :-) Hope you have a good week too. Bye for now.
