Magic Moments – 02/08/2015

The week was dominated by the build up to our caravan holiday, a visit to In the Night Garden Live, and…oh yes, Mummy’s birthday.  It is no mistake that my birthday is last on that list because once you are a parent that is just the way it goes now hey?  The morning of my birthday I was woken up by my husband prompting Harry in a stage whisper to say “Happy Birthday Mummy” which he duly did, and then quickly added “No, it’s Harry’s Birthday”.  Because his birthday was only 2 weeks ago he is getting a bit confused with the whole birthday concept.  He hasn’t yet grasped that his birthday only happens once a year and that other people can have them too!

In the Night GardenWith some hesitation in mind I took H to see In the Night Garden Live.  He is a fidget so I was doubtful that he would last the entire show, but I needn’t have worried at all.  At 40 minutes long and with so much to see, it kept him – and Mummy – entertained the whole time.  Harry loved it and kept jumping up and down with excitement.  Thankfully the poor woman sat behind us was very gracious about him landing on her feet a couple of times.  One of the funniest things was seeing parents reduced to singing all the songs trying to encourage their children to do the same.  The memory of big butch men singing “yes my name is Iggle-Piggle” still makes me laugh now.

Running RacesStraight after the performance we set off on our caravan holiday.  Within a couple of minutes of being on the site H had already made friends.  That is the beauty of camping – always other children to play with and lots of green open space.  Even though the boys were a bit older than him, when you play running games age really doesn’t matter!  All that entertainment and fresh air added up to an early night and a long lie-in.  Perfect for Mummy and Daddy

Have a good week everyone.

Love

Harry’s Honest Mummy x

    1. I was genuinely impressed as I thought it could be a lot of hype – great for kids but dull for parents. But I was wrong. It was great. Would definitely go again. Thanks for commenting.

  6. Happy belated birthday to you! In the night garden sounds fab, my toddler loves that show! We saw Mr Tumble a couple of weeks ago and it made me chuckle that all the parents were more enthusiastic than the children! Hope you had a lovely holiday!
