Magic Moments 27/09/2015

The best bit of the week was when Gaga and Grandma popped over on the weekend to help tidy up the garden.  With all the nice weather our garden has just gone crazy so it was time to give everything a really good chop back and clear away any of the garden pots and toys that were beyond saving.  All of us were out there getting stuck in – including Harry.

Gaga and Grandma really enjoy their gardening so they were thrilled that Harry was taking a very keen interest in what they were doing.  Whether he was a help or a hindrance they were all clearly enjoying the moment.  Gaga had H having a go at digging – even if Harry was trying to dig up all the plants that he had just spent the last half hour planting – hoeing, watering, and putting stuff away in to the garden bin.

H’s speech has really come on and he was gabbling away at them all the time.  And because his speech has come on so much they were able to answer him back on a few occasions with  out the help of me – the translator.  It is great to see him being able to do stuff with them now.  They are in their 80’s and so running around, picking him up etc is not ideal for them, so this was one activity they could all savour.

After a hard day’s morning’s work I made us all a snack and a well-earned cup of tea.  H included.  Whilst Harry had been out in the front garden Daddy and I had been working in the back.  Daddy had cleared out the decking in front of the summer-house so that he could hook up the hammock swing.  That swing was first bought for Em, so it is about 15 years old.  There are photos of her sitting in it as a young girl with the cat curled up on her lap.  It appears that H likes it just as much.  So much in fact that he sat  in it for a good half an hour.  My son, sit still for that long…..truly a magic moment.

One of my girls favourite things to do is gardening with their Grandma or with their Grandpa too at their houses. They love it and they bought them a little kit which they adore too. Such cute photos. x

I love getting the garden straight and I find it really relaxing when the kids are helping too! I say helping but it’s not always that way with my son! Lovely photos, what a fab chair! Thanks for linking with #sundaystars

Aww what a fantastic little helper. 🙂 It’s the perfect thing to do in the last of the Autumn warmth too. 🙂

I totally agree. Lots of fresh air + activity = one sleepy little boy 🙂

I think the relationship Grandparents can have with their grandchildren is just magic. Loving and caring in a different way than the parents do. They also have much more patience as well. I understand maybe 4 or 5 words the twins say but the rest all sound the same to me.

I couldn’t agree more. I love his reactions when they all pop over. He lights up as do they. It’s just lovely to see. Everyone looks to me to translate as well! Thanks for commenting.
